Yellowhouse
The house gets its name on the one hand from its colour and on the other hand from its brilliant daylight dominating its rooms because of its designing and its position. It is the ideal choice for anyone who wants to visit Ithaki either with his family or friends, because it combines a lot of things. It is located in Ithakis capital, it is near the shops and the beaches where you can go by car. It is also near the port from where small vessels set sail for the nearly beaches. You can enjoy your drink, your coffee or anything you want in the front veranda with beautiful view to the port or you can also relax in the paved yard by the private pool, the garden and the trees. Vathi
The village of Vathy the capital of the island, acquired its name because it is mostly at sea level. It is an amphitheatrical settlement surrouing by green mountains and it has been declared a traditional village since 1982 according to the Ionian building regulations. It is the main port of the islend and one of the best natural ports of the the Ionian Sea. In the middle of the port, an island of just a few square meters called Lazareto can be seen and on it is the small church of Sotira.
Few words about Ithaca
One of the most well known islands in Greece and the smallest and most beautiful in the Ionian. Its history goes far back in time with Odysseus known to everybody whose fame remains unforgotten through the ages. Ithaki is located in the middle of the Ionian Sea. The closest islands are Kefalonia on the west side -just two miles away- and on the north the island of Lefkada. Ithaca's capital is Vathy, which is the biggest port of the island and also one of the best natural ports of the Ionian Sea. The islands main features are its crystal clear seas, clean beaches, beautiful landscapes, lovely walking paths, museums, great rage of entertainment, hospitality, good food, i.e. fresh sea food which can be consumed just a few hours or even minutes after being caught and the traditional dishes and desserts a long with many other things left to be discovered during your time spent on the island.
